{In the recent years millions of Jamaicans have used sports as a pathway to success} . I n the Caribbean Jamaica has become known for having one the most talented athletes   . sports gives people in Jamaica the opportunity   be more successful in life . These athletes became very famous in their fields and put the country on the map . sports also takes away from criminal activities and keeps the kids focus on their futures. Sports like soccer keeps the people active and healthy with a lots of running . soccer also provides family time and connection.[Soccer unified the people , the poor children played soccer as a hobby , sports prevented kids from joining gang culture . These two short stories have  many similarities and differences . The stories took place in two completely different settings . Even though they were both in the Caribbean they had different cultures . Both islands were colonized by two different countries and they had different society's because of that the environment in these stories were also different . In '' cotton candy'' the setting is very different . Its in Cuba and there is a revolution going on .  The country is communist and much more strict . Lola a lonely girl who dream about fantasy's all the time . I believed Lola only act needy because she feel that being needy will get her more attention. Actually being needy is not an attractive trait at all and it push it men away from her . Lola mom's  authority over her makes her want try more stuff . This short story is about a stubborn young lady who learns her lesson the hard way .Just like most  young  girls in this world , she wants the  wealthiest and best looking men  . She was very picky and she picked men by looks instead of personality  and character . Her pickiness is shown by her refusal to listen the goat and the pig. She didn't even give them a chance to tell their story , she immediately rejected them .The narrator says that''he put very , very, very beautiful clothes .He decked himself in gold ''. This sentence shows that Tetiyette is more interested in the flashy things. As soon as the devil came and ask for her hand in marriage . She immediately accepted his offer because of his looks . Her mother told her that no men can be that handsome and she didn't listen .Her mother gave her instructions because of her suspicion of the man .  As it turned out the  mother was right , but she still decided to lie to her parents to protect her devil

The  island that i am doing my project on is called Jamaica . Jamaica is one of the most known islands in the Caribbean , this is because of their various cultures and traditional history .Jamaica is an island situated in the north of the Caribbean sea .The capital city is called Kingston . It is one of the most  popular city's in the Caribbean . The language spoken is called Patwa . Six distinct regions in Jamaica are Montego bay ,  Negril , Ocho Rios , Port Antonio , Kingston , south coast . An island of beauty with natural Beauty .  There is a lot of fun attractions and entertainment to do in Jamaica .The independence day is august 6 . Jamaica possesses  a parliamentary democracy . The total population is 2.5 million . My name is sidiki kebe . I am a kid from the west side of Africa . I have been through a lot in my lifetime and its only turn me into a stronger person . Three  months after my birth , I was sent to a small country in Africa called guinea . I lived in a small village with my grand-parents . Once i started growing my grand-parents couldn't really control me anymore , so they sent me in the city called Conakry to live with my uncle and his wife . The wife was very abusive and she wouldn't even feed me sometimes . At the age of ten , I was forced to do task that grown men shouldn't even attempt . I had to wash clothes for strangers in the street , so that i could get some food money . By the age of twelve I was willing to do  anything to earn some cash . Nobody cared about me so I didn't care about myself . I would called my mom in America to let her known about my situation but she didn't have enough money for a flight ticket .
